This week I helped facilitate many events. I participated in my very first English Conversation Group meeting. It was a lot of fun getting to meet other students and we got to paint pumpkins! I did my best attempt at pained Jack the Skeleton from the Nightmare Before Christmas. I helped out with the French Film Festival, I enjoyed meeting new community members and students. The film was animated, which was really interesting to me, I have never seen an animated french film before. I also helped with the Artists Receptions event at the UCBA Annex. There was a new art exhibit being displayed. This event really had an impact on, because I was able to meet the artists. When I look at a painting, I think to myself what inspired the artwork. I was able to speak with a few of the artists, and I learned so much about the meaning of their artwork. After speaking with the artists I was able to think more critically when looking at the art on display. I enjoyed learning something new and getting out of my comfort zone.

 

I feel that I was able to make an impact at the UC Blue Ash Dash. The Dash is such an amazing event for funding scholarships. I myself being a scholarship recipient, am truly grateful for everyone who participates in scholarship funding.  It was an amazing event! I helped run the water station and I cheered on the Dash participants. It was so important to have Ambassador support at the Dash. Everyone worked together as a team to make the event such a success.

This week in my Spanish class we learned how to describe members of our family. I am currently working on a powerpoint / video for my class project. I love learning about my classmates and sharing about my family. I also created a LinkedIn page as an assignment for my Business Communications class. I am learning how important it is to present yourself online in a professional manor. I look forward to growing my connections and building my professional profile.
