Week 11 11.4.18 - 11.10.18

This week I participated in many events. My first event of the week was the Success with an Accent: A Hispanic Perspective. This event had such an impact on me, the speaker was so inspirational and motivated me. There was something the speaker mentioned that really stuck with me, he said that never tell your self you can't do something. He asked the audience if anyone had noticed something about the word American, the last four letters spell I can. I had never realized that before and it has really resonated with me.
I helped facilitate the entrepreneur speaker event and I feel that I was able to make an impact at this event. After the event there was a small reception in the lounge area and I helped set up and serve food. I had so much fun talking with people and passing out food. I also participated in the English Conversation Group meeting this week. I met some new people at the meeting and had a great time. I also helped at the French Film Festival. The festival has been so much fun this semester, I look forward to seeing more French films. The UC Smiles event was this week and I am so thankful that our school has this event. I think it is amazing that the Dental Hygiene Clinic gives back to the community and offers there wonderful services to children.
My classes this week went well. I Have been enjoying all of them this semester. I am looking forward to starting new classes in January. My Spanish class is so much fun, I enjoy learning a new language. I hope to be able to communicate with more people. I feel that learning a new language is helpful in so many ways.
