Week 3 9.9.18 - 9.15.18

This week I helped the Admissions Office facilitate their annual Counselor's Breakfast. This event really impacted me, because my goal is to become an Admissions Counselor at UC Blue Ash College. High school counselors from local high schools came to the event to learn about UC Blue Ash College. This event was so important, because high school counselors help their students decide on where they should apply to college. The Admissions Office is working towards making UC Blue Ash College a destination college. It was an honor being able to represent UC Blue Ash College at the event.
I was able to make a positive impact at the Counselors Breakfast. I helped set up the event, run the check-in table, and pass out recruitment materials. Setting up the event was an important task, because when counselors first walk in we wanted to give them a good first impression. Working the check-in table was also an important task, I was able to create a welcoming and friendly environment. I was the first person the counselors interacted with, I needed to set the tone for the event. Passing out admissions recruitment materials was also very important, because the material the counselors received will be shown to prospective students.
This week I have been covering some great material in my classes. In my business communication class we are working in teams on a semester long project. This class is really benefiting me, because I am learning how to be professional in a work setting. I had previously mentioned that I was preparing for my first Spanish exam, it went great I got an A!! I was so nervous, but I believed in myself and worked hard. I am more confident in myself after receiving an A on my exam. So far this semester is off to a great start!
